Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain Universitas Tarumanagara didirikan pada tahun 1994, memiliki dua Program Studi yaitu Desain Interior dan Desain Komunikasi Visual. Sejak awal pendirian, telah terjadi kolaborasi lintas kampus dari para dosen yang berasal dari Universitas Trisakti, Jakarta, Institut Seni Indonesia, Yogyakarta, dan Institut Teknologi Bandung.<\/h3>\n

Pada tahun 2015 FSRD Untar menjadi anggota komunitas desain internasional ICO-D (International Council of Design<\/em>). Kemudian pada 2020 diterima sebagai anggota baru dari asosiasi perguruan tinggi desain internasional Cumulus <\/em>yang memiliki 357 anggota dari 66 negara. Keanggotaan di kedua lembaga desain internasional ini bermanfaat untuk memperluas cakrawala tenaga pengajar dan mahasiswa, selain memberi tolok ukur tentang perkembangan desain di dunia.<\/h3>\n

Universitas Tarumanagara memiliki nilai IPE yaitu, Integrity, Profesionalism, Entrepreneurship <\/em>FSRD Untar menambahkan 1 hal yang menjadi ciri khas, yaitu kreativitas <\/em><\/strong>yang selanjutnya menjadi core values<\/em> EPIC (<\/strong>Entrepreneurship, Profesionalism, Integrity, Creativity)<\/em>. FSRD Untar juga memiliki maskot (character<\/em>) bernama \u201cSarang<\/em>\u201d, sosok gadis remaja yang memiliki banyak ide dan kreatif. Melalui pendidikan di FSRD Untar para mahasiwa diasah untuk menjadi \u201ccreative problem solver<\/em><\/strong>\u201d<\/em>.<\/h3>\n

Pada tahun 2022 program studi Desain Interior memperoleh akreditasi Unggul dan pada tahun 2023 program studi Desain Komunikasi Visual memperoleh akreditasi Unggul berdasarkan penyetaraan hasil Instrumen Suplemen Konversi (ISK) dari BAN PT.<\/h3>\n
