Key Strengths

The Faculty of Art and Design at Universitas Tarumanagara, established in 1994, offers two study programs: Interior Design and Visual Communication Design. Since its establishment, the faculty has encouraged cross-institutional collaboration involving lecturers from various leading universities and institutions, including Trisakti University Jakarta, the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, and Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).

In 2015, FSRD Untar became a member of the international design community ICO-D (International Council of Design). Later, in 2020, the faculty joined Cumulus, an international association of design and art education institutions with hundreds of member institutions across many countries worldwide. Membership in these organizations provides valuable opportunities for both lecturers and students to broaden their global perspectives and stay connected with international design developments.

Universitas Tarumanagara embraces the values of IPE: Integrity, Professionalism, and Entrepreneurship. FSRD Untar expands these values by adding Creativity as its distinctive characteristic, forming the core values of EPIC: Entrepreneurship, Professionalism, Integrity, and Creativity. FSRD Untar also has its own mascot, a character named “Sarang,” a creative young girl who represents curiosity, imagination, and innovative thinking. Through its educational approach, FSRD Untar prepares students to become creative problem solvers.

In 2022, the Interior Design Study Program received an Excellent Accreditation, followed by the Visual Communication Design Study Program in 2023, based on the accreditation conversion assessment issued by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
